The Michmash Miracles

Continuing the story…..Our taxi pulled up on the verge of the steep area where we knew the battles took place. We walked up the slope, enjoying the strong smell of rosemary and a few brightly coloured wild flowers. We climbed up to the top where we could overlook the high area occupied by the enemy, and beneath us the long stoney walk to the huge rocks of Bozez and Seneh, through which we could walk to and then climb to the outpost of the opposing army.

Unfortunately out taxi driver called us and insisted we get out as soon as possible. It was too dangerous and he would not stay a minute longer even if we paid him a million dollars! He had broken our agreement. By way of compensation he offered to take us to Bethlehem. I reminded him we were not tourists and that I had been there several times before. I was bitterly frustrated and disappointed.
