Beta Readers
I am very fortunate to be part of the South West Indie Authors group and members are very supportive of each other. Two members have agreed to read my latest draft for The Rivers of Eden and make constructive comments. These good people are my Beta readers. Both of them have given me extremely helpful advice and I am largely rewriting the book as a result. I will then send the new draft to my editor at the beginning of May. She is so thorough that I know she will suggest hundreds maybe thousands of changes. Soon I will be contacting my designer to discuss the front cover. I have a few ideas of my own but his input is always brilliant. I am planning all details of the book launch except for the date. Preparations always take much longer than one expects.
My daily focus therefore is to rewrite page by page, sentence by sentence and word by word. A laborious but hugely enjoyable job.
I am delighted to have been invited to join a writing group meeting on a weekly basis to improve writing skills. This is an exclusive gathering, where we constuctively and sensitively examine and comment on each others writings. I am so looking forward to this.
Working with my brother, we have started a podcast discussing aspects of retirement and have already completed five interviews. The results are fascinating, varied and inspiring.
Enjoy the Spring!
